As a few of you are aware, there has been a mod out for Modern Warfare 2 that fixes the inherent problems brought by Activision / Infinity Ward.
What you get with Four Delta One is teh same MW2 fast paced fun experience, but on a true dedicated server, with console access too.
Want to load your custom 9999999999 fps config? No problem.
Want to rcon to change the servers map? No problem.
Also there is an added benefit - So long as you have the game files you can play (Not that I'm suggesting you shouldn't own the game if you want to play). Secondly you can play all the DLC, again without purchasing it, again not that I recommended doing that.
So long as you have Modern Warfare 2 on steam, you can just install IW4M (The four delta one launcher) in about 10 seconds, it doesn't break the install (so it still works on steam should you want to play vanilla MW2).
If you don't have the game downloaded on steam you can obtain the files from elsewhere and install it just the same. One thing to note is you have to download the DLC maps separately if you don't already own them on steam if you wish to play them.
To play you make a user account on Four Delta One's website, then use your login when you first launch the game. This way everyone levels up their own character just like in MW2 (you can hack it straight to top prestige if you want too).
